Vantreight Farms is asking for community support on our proposed residential project that preserves the rural character of Central Saanich now and for the future.
The Hill will allow our farm to continue to contribute to the social and economic fabric of our community, and adopt environmentally friendly farming practices.
We have consulted with and listened to the concerns of the community, Central Saanich staff and municipal council. This proposal is based on your collective recommendations, suggestions and advice.
Food security is becoming a major issue for Canadians. People have an increasing desire to know where their food comes from and how it's produced, and they want to see and feel a direct connection with the farmer.
People want to buy and consume locally produced food, especially if the farmers can lead the way in using renewable energy sources to do it, as Vantreight Farms is planning to do. Please click here to learn more about what we are proposing.
We ask that you become involved and informed during this process. It is our hope that you will write either a letter or an email of support to Mayor and Council in favour of a development on our non-ALR land for the benefit of the farm and the community.
